Record number of proposals at CEU’s Doctoral Conference

February 18, 2015

A record number of PhD candidates have submitted proposals to CEU’s Annual Doctoral Conference (ADC), which is to be held on 20-21 April 2015.

The Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations has received close to a hundred application from CEU PhD students and young researchers from other universities. External applications to the ADC were submitted from 22 institutions of higher education, from 17 different countries.

The received proposals will be evaluated by the Doctoral School in the coming weeks. The proposal evaluation is conducted anonymously by a selection committee. Selection is based on both the quality of the submitted proposals and on whether the proposed research topic fits into the topics of the planned panel sessions. PhD candidates whose paper get accepted to the Annual Doctoral Conference will get a notification in email.

CEU may provide a full or partial reimbursement of the accommodation and travel expenses for a limited number of external participants who would travel to the conference from outside Budapest. More information about reimbursement will be available after the selection procedure.

The Annual Doctoral Conference is a graduate students' conference at CEU that has been organized every year since 2006. The two to three days long conferences consist of several panel sessions, where students can present and discuss their research papers. Discussants in the panel sessions include renowned CEU professors and invited guest speakers. The ADC takes place in CEU's main campus, in the heart of Budapest.
