I am a PhD candidate in comparative politics at Central European University (CEU) where I research contemporary politics in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The focus of my research is on regime change, the role of religion and specifically Islam in politics, and political psychology in the MENA region. I am the founder and chair of the Middle East and North Africa Space – research group based at CEU Budapest since 2018.

My main areas of expertise are: Public opinion, automated text analysis, political ideologies in Arab-Muslim cultures, and religion and politics.
