Alberto Fierro

Alberto holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Turin (Italy) and a LL.M. degree in Comparative Law, Economics and Finance from the International University College of Turin. In 2015 he was awarded a one-year scholarship by the Luigi Einaudi Foundation (Turin) to research Michel Foucault's critique of German ordoliberalism. Before joining the Doctoral school of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations at the Central European University in 2016, Alberto worked in Tanzania for three months with the NGO L.V.I.A. (Cuneo) on a research project about rural water management schemes.

His research interests include International Political Economy, Social Movements, Critical Theory and History of Economic Thought. Alberto's doctoral project focuses on the role of legal strategies and discourses for housing and land movements, with Brazil as a case study.
